[CHALLENGE]
Shut Up was born as a result of a careful analysis and research of the habits and customs of the young inhabitants of Turin. Once the data was narrowed, we identified the area and times when the highest level of noise pollution was produced. We thus developed the idea of a service that would allow users to be directed and partially followed during their evening to make travel and organization simple for everyone.
[HOW DOES IT WORK]
Our service provides an intuitive and easy-to-navigate application. Following account setup, a map of your chosen venue, divided into three sections according to noise level, is made available: 1. static; 2. mild; 3. intense. This subsection allows the identification of spots where sound stays below the 55 Db benchmark, areas where this limit is exceeded resulting in a 50% booze price hike, and zones where sound exceeds 65 Db tagged with a 100% fare increase. Upon reaching a particular noise parameter at a location, the system initiates, delivering notices in the yellow zone encouraging customers to quieten down, whilst in the red zone it prompts them to depart their present spot and move to the one recommended by the system. All price changes can be tracked via the app interface and the in-venue tablets, are in sync with noise monitoring. Additionally, the service includes engaging features bound to attract and captivate users through various activities, offering 'pints’—actual rewards that can be accumulated for discounts or presents on beverages at system-affiliated locations.
